About Planium
We are building the workspace that saves the construction industry from solving the same problem twice — born from research at Chalmers on lessons learned.
Planium grew out of a research project at Chalmers on lessons learned in the construction industry. The starting point was a question most people in the industry will recognize: why does every project start from zero, when someone has almost always built something similar before? The knowledge exists — in studies, estimates, minutes, and colleagues' heads — but it is locked away in binders, file servers, and individual projects, and can rarely be found when the next project needs it.
Out of the research grew a product: a platform for lessons learned with a database that today holds hundreds of thousands of files from public construction projects — construction documents, studies, drawings, zoning plans, project data — and that keeps growing. On top of it, organizations gather their own projects in one place, and AI flows make the knowledge useful in everyday work: project kickoff, carbon calculations, risk analysis, tender evaluation, document review, specifications, and meetings.
Today, Planium is built by Avidnote AB, a Swedish company and the team behind Avidnote. Years of building AI tools taught us where work actually slows down: not in the thinking, but in everything around it — digging through PDFs, rereading notes, redoing the same searches and summaries someone else already did.
We measure success in projects that get started faster, estimates and carbon calculations that take hours instead of days, and lessons that are actually used in the next build. And the fundamentals are the same as always: your data is yours, it is never used to train models, and there are no ads — just a tool you pay for, working for you.
From research to product. The research project at Chalmers studied why lessons learned so rarely work in practice — and what it takes to make them work. The answer became Planium: knowledge has to be searchable where the work happens, not archived in a binder.
Built for how construction projects actually work
We know what a tender package, a noise study, and a site meeting look like. Planium is built for construction documents, drawings, estimates, tenders, and minutes — not for a generic “knowledge worker”.
Grounded in real documents — and honest about AI
AI is only useful when it works from real sources. Planium answers based on the database and your own files and shows what it used. It does not replace your professional expertise or your responsibility — it removes the mechanical work around them.
A support system — not another obligation
Planium is easy to get started with and does not replace your existing routines or systems. It sits alongside them, makes the knowledge searchable, and makes what you already do a little faster.
