OSHA interpretation letter responding to questions on lathe guarding, explosion proof motor seals and storage tank fill pipes. It states that splash or chip shields may serve as point of operation guards, that seals must be within 18 inches of enclosures, and that fill pipes must terminate no more than 6 inches from the tank bottom.
