OSHA interpretation letter responding to a request on the new fall protection standard for construction (1926.500). It states that Subpart M fall protection and guardrail criteria do not apply to employees on scaffolds, that fall protection is required on masonry scaffolds above 10 feet, and that no guardrail is required on the open work side if within 14 inches of the wall.
