Northern Ireland Assembly

Description

Parliament Buildings requires essential conservation cleaning works to address biological growth, carbon soiling, and harmful pollutants that have accumulated on the Portland limestone façades and associated external elements. The need for intervention is driven by: •preservation of the building fabric and prevention of long-term decay •removal of biological growth and harmful pollutants; •ensuring the building remains safe, structurally sound, and aesthetically appropriate; and •compliance with heritage management duties for a Grade A listed asset. The project includes cleaning the front elevation of Parliament Buildings, portico, tower, kerbs, steps, dwarf walls and architectural detailing, excluding areas expressly omitted in the specification.
